There are 23 CCMA offices, plus a national head office that is not a case office at all.
Seven of the 23 have moved, and the address gazetted in the CCMA’s own Rules still points to the old building. You can look up the address in the actual Rules of the CCMA, do everything correctly, and arrive at an empty office with a 30 day deadline running.
Find yours below. Where the gazetted address and the real one disagree, both are shown.
CCMA Offices in South Africa
All 23 CCMA offices, plus the national head office. Where the address gazetted in Schedule One of the CCMA Rules no longer matches where the office actually is, both are shown and the difference is flagged.
Cannot reach the office?

You do not have to refer a dispute in person. The CCMA accepts referrals by email, by fax, by post and through its online e-referral system.
Gazetted addresses are taken from Schedule One to the Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings before the CCMA, 2015. Current addresses and telephone numbers were verified against live listings in July 2026. Where the two disagree, the office has moved and the Schedule has not been updated. Phone before you travel.
The CCMA's own Rules give the wrong address for seven offices
Schedule One to the Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings before the CCMA, 2015 lists the address of every office. It is a gazetted document. It is also stale.
| Office | What Schedule One still says | Where the office actually is |
|---|---|---|
| Tshwane | Metro Park Building, 351 Francis Baard Street | 345 Pretorius Street |
| Bloemfontein | CCMA House, corner Elizabeth and West Burger | Tourism Centre, 60 Park Road, Willows |
| Rustenburg | CCMA House, 43 to 45 Boom Street | 111 Klopper Street |
| eMalahleni | CCMA House, 69 Kruger Street, Witbank | 4 to 6 Athlone Avenue |
| East London | 6 Oxford Street | 73 Oxford Street |
| Welkom | Phakisa House, corner Ryk and Heeren | 27 Mooi Street |
| Port Shepstone | The Chambers, 68 Nelson Mandela Drive | 10 McArthur Street |
Rustenburg is the clearest case. The telephone number in the Schedule and the telephone number on the current listing are identical, which tells you it is the same office. It simply moved, and nobody updated the law.
The head office trap
The CCMA's national office is at 28 Harrison Street, Johannesburg. The CCMA's Johannesburg case office is at 127 Fox Street. Different buildings, about a ten minute walk apart, and the CCMA's own website muddles the two.
Do not refer a dispute to 28 Harrison Street. It is an administrative head office. If you are in Johannesburg, you want 127 Fox Street.
Which office do you actually go to?
The office that covers the place where the dispute arose, which in practice means where you worked. Not where you live now, and not the office nearest to you.
Someone dismissed from a job in Benoni refers to Ekurhuleni even if they have since moved to Pretoria. Someone dismissed in Witbank refers to eMalahleni, which is the same office under its current name. If you are not sure, phone the call centre on 0861 16 16 16 and ask before you file, because a referral to the wrong office wastes days you may not have.
You do not have to go in person
This is the part that costs people their case.
The CCMA accepts a referral by email, by fax, by post, and through its online e-referral system. You do not have to queue. If your deadline is tomorrow and the office is four hours away, you can still file today.
The referral is made on form LRA 7.11. Referring a dispute to the CCMA is free. Nobody may charge you to lodge it, and you do not need a lawyer to do it.
The deadlines that end cases before they start
| Dispute | You must refer within |
|---|---|
| Unfair dismissal | 30 days of the date of dismissal |
| Unfair labour practice | 90 days of the act or omission |
Miss it and you must apply for condonation, which means asking the CCMA to accept a late referral. Condonation is not a formality. You must explain the delay, and how good your case is on the merits matters. Plenty of genuinely unfair dismissals die here.
The clock starts on the date of dismissal, not the date you got your last payslip, not the date you finished your notice, and not the date you gave up hope of getting your job back.
The two offices we could not verify
Secunda and Vryburg both appear on the CCMA's own list of offices, but neither is in the gazetted Schedule, because both postdate the 2015 Rules. Neither has a listing we were prepared to publish as fact.
They exist. We simply will not print an address for them that we cannot stand behind, because the cost of getting it wrong is somebody driving to the wrong town with a deadline running. Phone 0861 16 16 16 and confirm.
That is a shorter answer than other sites will give you. It is also the true one.

Methodology
The gazetted addresses are taken from Schedule One to the Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings before the CCMA, 2015, made under the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995.
Every office was then checked against live listings in July 2026. Where the gazetted address and the current listing agree, the office is marked verified. Where they disagree, the office is marked as having moved and both addresses are shown, because a reader who has already found the gazetted address elsewhere needs to know it is wrong. Where an office has no reliable current listing, the gazetted address is used and flagged.
Secunda and Vryburg appear on the CCMA's list of offices but in no gazetted Schedule, and neither could be confirmed from a second source. They are listed without an address rather than with one we cannot support.
Referral time limits are set by section 191 of the Labour Relations Act.

Disclaimer
Searchis is not a law firm and this is not legal advice.
Addresses, telephone numbers and office hours change. Where an office has moved, the gazetted Schedule has not caught up, and there is no guarantee it has not moved again since we checked. Phone the office, or the call centre on 0861 16 16 16, before you travel. If a deadline is close, file by email or e-referral rather than in person.
