Checking…

SASSA will never:

  • Send you a link by SMS or WhatsApp asking you to “update” or “verify” your details. Type srd.sassa.gov.za yourself.
  • Ask for your PIN, password, OTP, card number or banking details – not by SMS, WhatsApp, email or phone.
  • Ask you to pay a fee to receive, unlock or speed up a grant. Applying and appealing are free.
  • Offer a “new R700 grant”. There is no R700 grant – SASSA denied this. The SRD grant is R370 a month.
  • Contact you from a random personal cellphone claiming to be a “SASSA agent”.
